White spots or chalky marks on teeth are very common and are typically caused by an uneven distribution of minerals within your tooth enamel. One of the most frequent causes is decalcification, which occurs when plaque builds up on the teeth and strips away essential minerals. This is incredibly common after having fixed braces removed if keeping the areas around the brackets clean proved difficult. Another common culprit is fluorosis, which happens if a person swallows too much fluoride while their adult teeth are still developing under the gums during early childhood. Finally, these marks can be caused by enamel hypoplasia, a developmental condition where the enamel doesn't form fully or properly, often as a direct result of a childhood illness or physical trauma to the baby teeth.
ICON treatment at Kendrick View starts from £295 per tooth. The exact cost will depend on the number of teeth being treated and the complexity of your case. We will always give you a full breakdown at your consultation before any treatment begins.
Results are long-lasting and can be enjoyed for several years. With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, many patients find their results last even longer.
Not at all. ICON is minimally invasive. There are no needles and no removal of healthy tooth structure. Most patients find it a very comfortable experience from start to finish.
In most cases, ICON treatment is completed in a single appointment. Depending on the number of teeth being treated, the appointment typically lasts between 60 and 120 minutes.
ICON is considered very safe. A small number of patients experience mild, temporary sensitivity to hot or cold foods and drinks immediately after treatment, but this usually resolves within a day or two.
