2024 Newsletter Autumn

Autumn Newsletter

A warm welcome to our Autumnal Newsletter. We hope you are well, settling into the new season and the countdown to Christmas! We have had a busy few months at Kendrick View and look forward to sharing our news with you.

New Staff

We’d like to welcome two new members of staff to the team. Amalia Gheorghe joined us in December 2023 as a trainee dental nurse. Amalia has recently passed her exams and is now a qualified dental nurse working alongside Josephine, our Specialist Periodontist and our hygienists.

Her dedicated, excellent work ethic and compassionate approach to patient care has been recognised by the staff and we are lucky to have Amalia as part of our team.

In her spare time, Amalia is kept busy looking after her little boy and helping to run her family’s cleaning business.

We would also like to introduce Reem Mahgoub. Reem joined us in May 2024 as a trainee dental nurse and has been working alongside our hygienists. Reem is originally from Saudi Arabia and has had lots of experience as a dental assistant, working in Cairo, Jeddah and now Reading.

Reem has displayed patience, compassion, and dedication to her role here at the practice and we are so pleased to have her as part of our team.

In her spare time, Reem enjoys reading, travelling, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.

We are delighted to announce we have a new orthodontist, Dr. Luis Marval.

Luis began his journey in Orthodontics in 1995 and was awarded the title of Specialist in Orthodontics in 2002 in his home country of Venezuela. After moving to the UK in 2017 and achieving his registration with the GDC, he has worked in both hospital as a locum consultant and private practice in London and Oxford.

We believe that everyone deserves a smile they can be truly proud of regardless of age, which is why we are so thrilled to have Luis join us to offer high quality orthodontic treatment to all our patients. Luis will be working with us once a month on a Friday, so If you have ever considered orthodontic treatment or would simply like to discuss your options with Luis, give us a call and book in today, the end result will be well worth the journey.

In Luis’s spare time he plays football, takes spinning classes and enjoys quality time with his family going to the cinema, and parks.

Baby News

We are thrilled to announce that our long-standing clinical lead and receptionist, Jessie Judd is expecting her first child. Jessie and her fiancé Richard are both very excited about their new arrival in January 2025! (And we cannot wait for the cuddles)!

Seasonal Dental Care Tips: Halloween and Christmas

Halloween Tips: Treat Your Teeth Right!

Choose wisely:

Pick chocolate over hard sweets. Chocolate dissolves quickly and is less likely to stick to your teeth, while hard sweets can cause cracks and cavities.

Sugary Treats:

Try to enjoy your treats all at once instead of snacking throughout the day to minimise acid attacks on your teeth.

Stay hydrated!

Drinking water helps wash away sugar and bacteria from your mouth after indulging in treats.

Brush and Floss:

Make sure to brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily, especially after enjoying Halloween treats. This will help remove any leftover sugar and prevent cavities.

Christmas Tips: Keep Your Smile Bright!

Choose your festive treats carefully:

Enjoy festive goodies like gingerbread, toffees, and candy canes in moderation. Try to pick softer treats, when possible, to protect your teeth.

Brush After Indulging:

Remember to brush your teeth and floss after enjoying sweet treats and meals to keep your mouth healthy.

Stay on Top of Your Routine:

Holidays can disrupt routines. If you are going away keep a travel toothbrush, toothpaste, and interdental brushes handy to maintain your dental hygiene while on the go!

Choose Healthy Snacks:

When possible, eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables at holiday gatherings. They are great for your teeth!

Visit the Dentist:

If you have time before the holidays, book a dental check-up and hygiene appointment to ensure your teeth are in the best shape before indulging in festive treats.

By following these tips, you can enjoy the holiday seasons while keeping your smile healthy! Happy Halloween and Merry Christmas!
