We would like to introduce you to the new faces of the Kendrick View team.
Kiran Shankla
We are pleased to welcome Dr Kiran Shankla as our new Dental Associate. Kiran has taken over from Dr Ahmad Zeitouni. Kiran is a local dentist who has lived in Reading for most of her life. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2013. Kiran enjoys keeping up to date with the latest dental information and tries to go on a variety of courses ensuring she is at the forefront of the latest technology and material. She is extremely passionate in providing her patients with the best dental experience she possibly can and prides herself on her gentle, caring and patient nature. She is a very conscientious dentist and believes in trying to get the best results by using minimally invasive dentistry. Kiran offers Invisalign and Facial Aesthetics which you can read more about on our website. When not at work Kiran enjoys travelling and trying new experiences. She is a keen photographer and is always up for a challenge, proven when she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and certified as a scuba diver.
Fawad Amin
Fawad graduated from the University of Bristol in 2011. After completing his foundation training in the Oxford deanery, he undertook additional hospital training roles in maxillofacial surgery & restorative dentistry. During this time, he was awarded with the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
In 2016, Fawad was selected for the Masters in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, which he completed in 2018. Since 2018, Fawad has been working in multiple practices where he has limited his clinical work to Endodontics, treating cases on a referral basis. Fawad is an active member of the British Endodontic Society, European Society of Endontology and the American Association of Endodontists. He is also a published author with publications in the British Dental Journal. Outside of dentistry, Fawad is a keen cricketer playing for his local club. He is a keen explorer and enjoys mountain hiking in his spare time – always on the lookout for his next challenge!
Dipesh Kothari
We’d like to welcome Dr Dipesh Kothari, who has replaced Dr Kashmira Ubhi as our Implantologist. Kash decided to stop travelling to Reading and focus solely on his practice in Amersham.
Dipesh graduated with a BDS from the University of Glasgow 2009 and is an experienced dentist whose practice is limited to implant dentistry having started his implant training in 2010. He has a reputation for delivering high quality work and for working well with nervous patients. Dipesh is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol where he teaches on the Implantology MSc as well as two other implant courses for young dentists. In 2021 he was awarded Fellowship to the International Team of Implantology.
Josephine Bayliss – Chapman
Introducing Dr Josephine Bayliss-Chapman, our new specialist Periodontist. Josephine has taken over from Dr Omar Patel, who due to childcare and travelling has decided to work closer to home.
Josephine is a qualified Specialist Periodontist having received a Doctorate in Clinical Periodontology at Queen Mary University of London and has a fantastic work portfolio behind her. She is a Periodontal member of both the Royal College of Edinburgh and Royal College of England. Josephine fits in with the ethos we have at Kendrick View to provide the highest standard of care and we are very excited to have her join us.
Simona Hung
Simona joined the practice in February this year and is working on Saturdays as our new hygienist. We hope to see more of her during the week as her children grow and she is able to work more days.
Maisie Spooner
Maisie has just joined us as a trainee dental nurse and is currently working in different surgeries with our qualified nurses to gain experience. Maisie has settled in well to the Kendrick View team.
Shuha Hilmy
Shuha has been training as a dental nurse for just over a year and is taking her exams imminently. She is a competent and conscientious member of the team. Good luck with your upcoming exam Shuhu!
Karina Kalkowska
Karina joined our reception team in August this year. Previously working in sales, Karina has gained experience dealing with the public, working in a busy, fast paced environment which has enabled a smooth transition to work on our dental reception. Karina is calm, efficient, and caring and we are lucky to have her working alongside us.
Mica Cyrus
Many of you, especially Mark Hargreaves & Kiran Bhogal’s patients, may remember Mica. She joined us in 2009 as a qualified dental nurse, working her way up to clinical lead, and after a few years decided she wanted to further her career and train to be a hygienist. Mica attended Portsmouth University and studied for 3 years, passing in August this year. She has now joined our fantastic hygiene team and works for us on a Friday and every other Saturday.
