Cosmetic Bonding
|
- What is it?
- Cosmetic Bonding is now used in many fields in Dentistry. It is an extremely versatile technique and when used with aesthetic tooth coloured material, can solve a whole range of minor cosmetic problems.
- How’s it done?
- Soft, Composite materials are used for Cosmetic Bonding and these are added in layers to the tooth. By building up the composite in layers we can mimic the natural colour and translucency of different parts of the tooth structure. Each layer is shaped and then set with an ultra-blue light. The final restoration can then be contoured and polished to a glossy finish. We try to match the colour and shape of the tooth exactly so that it looks completely natural. The results can be remarkable.
